AFTER EFFECTS OF COVID ON THE RECOVERED PATIENTS.

Coronavirus impacts the body of the patient severely .But even after patient has recovered,the person may still show symptoms of Covid .

According to a study , it has been found that Covid-19 could have lingering after – effects in recovered patients. At least one symptom could still be seen even after an average of 60 days.

The study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. It surveyed the patients who had recovered from a hospital in Rome . Nearly 90% of patients hadn’t fully recovered even after an average of two months .

Around 87.4% of patients still reported at least one symptom – particularly fatigue and shortness of breath. Most of them suffered from pneumonia. More than half of the patients reported three or more symptoms while about one in four still had joint pain and about one in five experienced chest pain. Nearly 44 percent of the patients said their quality of life was worse now than before they got sick.

Numerous studies are underway , to explore the reasons behind this adversity . But one thing is clear that the immune system determines the fatality rate of this virus . And infact immune responses, rather than the virus itself, are responsible for death in Covid-19 patients.
