DOCTOR’S DAY AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE,
ESPECIALLY IN THESE TESTING TIMES
01 July 2020; While you’re reading this , National Doctor’s Day is being celebrated
throughout our country , India .
It is actually saddening that we need a separate day to celebrate the great work
done by the doctors . Doctors , a.k.a , Covid warriors are some of the most
important people in these Covid times and are making significant contribution to
the society .
Why do we celebrate Doctor's day?
In India, this day is celebrated to mark the birth as well as the death anniversary of
Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, who was one of the most renowned physicians in India. Dr BC
Roy was also the second Chief Minister of West Bengal.
Nevertheless , it offers us an opportunity to express our gratitude towards
doctors for their dedicated round the clock service in the current era of the
COVID-19 pandemic.
Doctor's Day Theme
According to reports, this year's Doctors Day theme is "Lessen the mortality of
COVID 19". It includes awareness about asymptomatic hypoxia and early aggressive
therapy.
In India, this day is organized by the Indian Medical Association (IMA). According
to IMA, Doctor's Day of 2020 is of special importance. Every member of IMA and
the local branch take a lead in the local area and bring about a change in the
current situation (Covid-19 pandemic). Doctors Day of 2020 is dedicated to the
innumerable doctors who are serving during this epidemic in the primary and
secondary care setups as well as the dedicated COVID care hospitals.
The day is expected to hold state-level webinars and virtual meetings via video
conferencing to acknowledge the efforts of doctors and medical practitioners amid
coronavirus induced lockdown across the country
PM and other leaders express gratitude and Salute the Covid Warriors
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to twitter and posted a video to thank the
Covid warriors who have been taking care of each one of us and serving the country
without thinking about their lives.
